It's quite easy to create a pallet day bed so it's great as a first pallet project. Not much construction involved at all. Here's how you can create one in 4 easy steps.
1. Gather your materials
- 1 CP3 block pallet that is the same width as the base. Cut the length into 1/3 (mine measures 40cm / 15.74"), making sure you leave 1 row of blocks and bottom boards so it can turn into an inclined bed head.
- 5 castor swivel rubber wheels (2 of which have brakes) with a heavy duty loading (mine are 75mm / 3" with a load bearing of 65kg / 143lbs each )
- 20 screws for the wheels
- Exterior Acrylic Paint in high gloss
- Pillows, outdoor chair cushions or matress
2. Paint the pallets
Give it a dust then simply paint it. I gave it 2 coats.
3. Screw in the wheels
Then secure the remaining wheels on the other 2 corners and in the middle.
4. Put it all together
Place the bed head in position so it too sits securely on top of the base at an angle, and glue/screw if necessary.
Arrange your cushions.
Roll your new pallet day bed into position, put on the brakes, then LAY BACK, look up and ENJOY!
